Aunque ya hablé de este señor hace 2 años, vale la pena retomar su pista a WRECLESS ERIC, la obra maestra y absolutamente recomendable de este genial Clown es este trabajo, cuando se publico era un doble vinilo, ahora creo que existe en CD....

25 canciones de Nueva Ola, con más de 10 a un altisimo nivel, y con 2 ó 3 hits absolutos...

Fijate atentamente en la portada dice......comprame, comprame, comprame......Ó incluso vulveme a escuchar

KWYET KINGS

Before this legendary norwegian band split up in 1997, they recorded three excellent albums, of which later two are real materpieces of todays POWER-POP. The 12 songs combine their strong Sixties influences with those immortal power-pop sounds of the late 70's and early 80's. Great songwriting, walls of crunchy guitars and a superb production make this record a must have for every fan of energetic POP. Think of mix of the WHO, the FLAMING GROOVIES and the PLIMSOULS and you get there.
The band at this time included members of such great outfits as LUST-O-RAMA, the YUM YUMS and GLUECIFER. They picked out the most essential bits out of the last 30 years of musical history and put their very own unique sound to it. It's not just POP,it's not just R'N'R, it's the KWYET KINGS

PLAYMATES: - "Long Sweet Dreams" 1986

nuevo artículomg src="myfiles/agita/playmates.jpg" width="321" height="321" class="imgizqda" />Estos días he desempolvado un fantástico disco del 86 que hacía tiempo que no escuchaba, Long Sweet Dreams de los suecos Playmates, y que os recomiendo encarecidamente.

Semanas atrás en el blog de PepSoundsse hablaba de él, por cierto en un artículo muy interesante, y me quedé con unas ganas tremendas de volver a escucharlo.

El disco lo componen 8 temas, muy épicos y repletos de preciosas guitarras, y grandes melodías, pero donde la guitarra de 12 cuerdas es la gran protagonista y los sonidos preponderantes nos recuerdan el estilo de Byrds, aderezados del entusiamo y la vitalidad del garage americano, aunque el disco no suena de ningún momento a garage.

De esos 8 temas, al menos 4 deberían ser clásicos de los 80: Remember, Fine Fine Day, Days After Tomorrow, Wasted Years y Face the light.

Si os gustan las guitarras, echadle el guante si podeis. Es una maravilla.

MARTA & THE MUFFINS: - "Echo Beach" 1980

"Echo Beach", fué el único, pero gran exito de Marta and the Muffins un grupo que nos llego desde Vancouver, Canada en 1980.

A pesar de ser un tema rotundo y bailable, y que la voz de marta al cantar es especialmente agradable, no suele figurar en los, ahora cientos de recopilatorios de New Wave o Power Pop que están saliendo con canciones de esta epoca
